FAQ

Quick answers about our pieces, our sets, and shipping and returns.

Materials and safety

What are your pieces made of?

Each product page tells you what the maker lists that piece as made of. Many of our chains and charms are stainless steel, and some pendants are copper. Where the maker’s listing doesn’t name the metal, the product page says so.

What do “gold-tone” and “steel-tone” mean?

They describe the colour of a piece’s finish, not the metal it is made of. The metal, where the maker names it, is on the product page.

Will your jewelry suit sensitive skin?

Everyone’s skin is different, so we can’t promise how a piece will suit yours. If you know certain metals bother you, check the materials on the product page before you buy, and take a piece off if your skin feels itchy or red.

Who is your jewelry made for?

Our jewelry is made for teens and adults. It isn’t a toy: charms, clasps and little rings are small parts that can be swallowed, so keep your pieces away from little ones and pets.

Caring and keeping

How do I keep my jewelry looking its best?

Put your jewelry on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off first.

Take it off before you swim, shower, work out or sleep. Water, sweat, chlorine and salt slowly dull a finish.

How do I clean it?

Wipe each piece with a soft, dry cloth after you wear it. For a deeper clean, use a drop of mild soap in lukewarm water, rinse, and dry it completely straight away.

Skip jewelry dips, polishing pastes and ultrasonic cleaners: they can wear away a finish and loosen glued details.

How should I store it?

Keep pieces apart, in a dry pouch or box, so they don’t scratch or tangle, and close the clasp on a chain before you put it away. In a humid room, a small silica gel packet in the box helps.

Will the colour last?

Every finish wears a little with time, faster where a piece rubs against skin, clothes or other jewelry. The care above helps it last much longer.

Something broke. What can I do?

Selection guides

How do I design my own jewelry?

Open Create Your Jewelry. Pick a chain or a bracelet, then add 1 to 4 charms. The picture shows your set as you build it, and you can add, remove or swap charms until it feels right. Then add it to your cart as one set.

How do set savings work?

A set takes a discount off the whole set, chain included, and the more charms, the more you save: 1 charm 5%, 2 charms 10%, 3 charms 15%, 4 charms 20%.

With two or more sets in your cart, every set takes another 5% off, so a set can save up to 25%.

A chain or bracelet with no charm isn’t a set yet: add at least 1 charm before you check out. The How to save page has the details.

Can I buy chains and charms on their own?

Yes, every piece is also sold on its own. With more than 4 single pieces in your cart, each one is 10% off.

How do I choose a necklace length?

Each chain’s page gives its length as the maker states it. As a rough guide:

  • 40 cm (16 in): at the base of the neck
  • 45 cm (18 in): just below the collarbone, the length most people wear
  • 50 cm (20 in): a little lower, on the upper chest
  • 55 to 60 cm (22 to 24 in): longer, for layering or over a high neckline

An extender lets you wear a chain a little longer.

How do I find my bracelet size?

Wrap a soft tape measure snugly around your wrist, just above the bone (or use a strip of paper, then lay it along a ruler). Add 1 to 2 cm (about ½ to ¾ in) for a comfortable fit.

Does the builder’s picture show the real size?

Close to it. The picture is drawn from our product photos at about their real size, so it gives a good idea of how your set will look. Colours and exact sizes can look a little different in your hand.

Shipping and returns

Where do you ship?

To the United States and many other countries. Enter your address at checkout to see whether we deliver to you, and what it costs.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is worked out at checkout, from your address and your order.

How long will my order take?

Your pieces travel to you straight from our maker overseas, so please allow a little longer than for a parcel sent from nearby. When your order ships, we’ll email you a tracking link.

Will I have to pay import duties?

Not for deliveries in the United States: import duties are paid before your parcel reaches you, so there is nothing more to pay at the door. Other countries may charge their own duties or taxes on arrival.

Where is my order?

Follow the tracking link in your shipping email. If it hasn’t moved for a while, write to us with your order number and we’ll look into it.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Write to us as soon as you can, with your order number, and we’ll do our best before it ships. Once it’s on its way, it can’t be changed.

How do I return something?

Write to us from the Contact us page with your order number and the pieces you’d like to return. We’ll reply with our US return address and the next steps. Once your return arrives and we’ve checked it, we refund you to your original payment method.

My order arrived damaged, or it isn’t what I ordered.

We’re sorry! Write to us within a few days of delivery, with your order number and photos of the piece and its packaging, and we’ll put it right.
